Funnel Runners Future Biomes Roadmap
Planned Funnel Runners biomes after Early Access — The Great Plains, High Sierras, Desert, Snowy Retreat, Midwest Farm, and Old West with unique weather events.
Launch Biome: American Suburbs
Early Access begins with the American Suburbs — classic suburban houses, parks, gas stations, and small-town locations. Three base map layouts rotate randomly, each filled with procedural area slots and 200+ possible item spawn points. Fifteen weather variations and F1 through EF5 tornado events define the launch experience.
Confirmed Roadmap Biomes
Supernova Studios' public Early Access roadmap includes three to four distinct new biomes currently in development:
- The Great Plains: Open grassland terrain with wide sightlines and exposed loot routes — tornado visibility increases but cover decreases
- The High Sierras: Mountainous terrain with elevation changes affecting storm paths and vehicle escape routes
- The Desert: Arid environment with sandstorm weather events replacing rain-based storms
Devlog Teasers: Old West and Beyond
Developer devlogs previewed additional environments beyond the official roadmap wording. The Old West biome features western-movie architecture, desert landscapes, sandstorms, and tumbleweeds that can send players flying. Snowy Retreat and Midwest Farm biomes were named as future possibilities with distinct building types and weather patterns.
How Biomes Change Gameplay
Each biome alters assets, building types, weather patterns, and hazard profiles. A sandstorm in the desert blocks visibility differently than rain in the suburbs. Map generation rules adapt per biome — street patterns, POI types, and loot tables shift to match the environment. Teams accustomed to suburban routing must relearn priorities in open plains or mountain passes.
